Fundación Quique Cerón is located in Esquipulas, Guatemala, the home of the Cristo Negro, where thousands of Christians from Central/South America make a pilgrimage each year. Since the foundations inception in 2013, Quique has dedicated his life to helping others in his community, by turning his home into a full-service physical therapy clinic and promoting Jornadas (days of giving) in and around Esquipulas. In 2022 they expanded further and announced the opening of their new general medical clinic, w/onsite provider Dr. Edas Machorro. Like the physical therapy clinic, the general medical clinic is located in Quique's home.
In 2015 an opportunity in Esquipulas, Guatemala, led Cara Hulse (Director/Founder of AMOS) to meeting Quique Ceron and shortly after that trip, in 2016, AMOS was formed. There is a lot of preparation that goes into planning a medical mission trip and while our volunteers here at home get things ready, the QCF is busy doing the same. Our friends at the QCF tirelessly work to coordinate the clinic dates/times in remote villages and the housing, transportation, translators and meals for our AMOS team. They also coordinate when/where our Helping Babies Breathe and Health & Hygiene programs will be held and who will be attending them and SO MUCH MORE. Fundación Quique Cerón is an invaluable partner in our mission and we could not do what we do without them! Visit their Facebook page for more information on this wonderful, extremely generous, organization.
Located just down the street from the Fundación Quique Cerón, you'll find Casa De La Cultura. They offer music lessons, guitar lessons, painting lessons, drawing lessons, singing lessons, marimba lessons and so much more. People of all ages are welcome to join in classes that enrich their community and promote sustainability.
Casa de La Cultura is also the current home of Educacion sin Fronteras (Education without Borders), the AMOS/QCF education program. This program provides education to children in the poorest areas of eastern Guatemala, the Northern Triangle. A certified Guatemalan teacher is with elementary aged students 5 days a week and provides structured education and remediation to so many children in need. Valparaiso Professional Pharmacy is a locally owned, independent pharmacy, that gives a personalized experience that you simply will not find at a big chain store. Their staff is fast, efficient and provides exceptional service. They have been supporting AMOS for many years now, from just about our beginning, and have proven to be an invaluable resource for us.
Prior to every trip Elton, the Pharmacy Doctor, sits down with one of our team members to discuss what medications are available to us and answer any questions we may have. After our meeting he compiles a list of the medications we discussed, sometimes even during his off hours, on his personal time. Once the list is compiled and reviewed by one of our team members, the order is placed and we typically have our medications by the next day! In addition, VP contributes a yearly monetary donation, to help with mission expenses! We are so incredibly grateful and hope to continue to work with Valparaiso Professional Pharmacy for many years to come!
If you're ready to stop wasting your time in busy waiting areas and instead, get the fast consultative pharmacy care that you deserve, consider Valparaiso Pharmacy! Click the link below for more information on how to transfer your prescriptions today!
Lambstone Cellars is a family owned and operated urban boutique winery that began in 2015 and have been supporting AMOS since 2019, when we had our first idea to have a wine event fundraiser at their awesome facility. Mike, Sue and their staff are gracious hosts and donate the use of their beautiful space, to allow us the opportunity to raise funds to further our cause. They let us bring in our own snacks, Guatemalan textiles and silent auction baskets. They greet, serve and mingle with our event guests with joy and a smile. Lambstone goes above and beyond to make sure we have everything we need before, during and after our events.
Mike and Sue are incredibly generous humans with big hearts, that continue to give consistent support and generous monetary donations year after year. We are excited to partner with them for many years to come! So if you're looking for some delicious wine (and pasta) or need an awesome event space, RUN, don't walk to Lambstone today! Christ Lutheran Church and it’s members have been devoted and incredibly supportive of AMOS mission trips for many years now, pretty much since our beginning. Many of their women’s groups and parishioners knit hats and sew fabric bags for our AMOS programs. CLC members have been faithfully collecting and donating medications and supplies to our mobile clinics and making team t-shirts. And if all that wasn't enough, they selflessly contribute yearly monetary donations. They include AMOS as part of their ministry support and continually pray for our mission. They have been extremely generous in all they do. AMOS is incredibly grateful and blessed for all of their unconditional support. We hope to have their support for many more years to come.
