A Mission of Service (AMOS) was founded by Cara Hulse in 2016. Cara has been involved in non-profit work in Northwest Indiana for over 25 years and always had aspirations to be involved with international medical mission work. In 2011 she was fortunate enough to be able to go on her first mission trip to Guatemala and it changed her life forever. In 2015 an opportunity in Esquipulas, Guatemala, led her to meeting Quique Ceron and with the partnership of the Quique Ceron Foundation, AMOS was born.
In March of 2017 medical professionals traveled to Central America for the very first AMOS medical mission trip. During the week-long trip, over 700 patients were seen and treated in clinics in various remote villages throughout Guatemala and Honduras. AMOS has been blessed to be able to take volunteer groups on 1-2 medical mission trips a year, since 2017. We have seen and treated thousands of patients and, if they need it, connect them with resources they can access long after we have gone.
Each year, through applications, teams are chosen for our medical missions. The chosen team of volunteers devote 6 to 8 months of their personal time to plan and organize specific needs for the mission. There are multiple meetings where volunteers discuss and plan the logistics of the mission and future projects. These teams also host at least one large fundraising event during their time leading up to their trip date. All medications and supplies used to treat patients are donated by individuals, local churches, and businesses; these donations are crucial to the success of the AMOS mission.
In addition to our volunteer work abroad, we also support our local community. AMOS works with, supports, donates and volunteers time to multiple, local area, 501(c)(3)'s and businesses!
Our mission is to promote sustainable solutions to global health issues by providing education, community assistance and access to global resources.
We do this because WE CARE.
We do this to help make connections and provide resources that would not otherwise be available.
We do this to BUILD BRIDGES.
We do this for future generations.
We do this to MAKE A DIFFERENCE... and TOGETHER we make a difference.

Please consider a donation today.
100% of our income is from private donors. Without donations, our organization would not be able to continue working for the good of our local community and those abroad. We also would not be able to fund our invaluable Helping Babies Breathe, Health & Hygiene and Education Without Borders programs in Central America. THANK YOU for your support!
